was standing alongside the player walkway between the 15 tee and 15 green (211 yard par 3 over water) as Jason Dufner came to the 15 tee, pulled out a club and hit a really nice shot. As he walked toward the green and got close to our position, he still had the iron in his hand that he'd hit his tee shot with. There was a dad standing there with his youg son (boy looked to be about 6 years old, all decked out in golf apparel) and Dufner held the club out to the kid as he walked by. The few people standing there were kind of confused at first, and the kid didn't know what to do. Dufner slowed his pace slightly and said "take it" and the kid reached out and took the club. The look on the kids face was priceless, bright red, wide-eyed, totally shocked and excited. Good on ya, Jason! Jason was not in contention, but still, pretty awesome to make that young kid's day (and maybe week) by doing that. He made the putt for birdie, too!
