He can, mostly at his own whim, lay waste to the planet with nuclear assault. He can place on a "kill list" any US citizen he deems a threat and execute them without due process. He can, without any input from Congress, conduct the entirety of the US military to armed conflict anywhere on the globe. Congress has also built him a massive complex of agencies with broad mandates to control the minutiae of all our lives while he and his henchmen are at leave to interpret and enforce the details as they see fit. A vast structure of power and control embodied by one person has been put in place replacing our founding notion of skepticism of such power.============================== |
