I read the news as I was pulling into my driveway with my oldest son. Yesterday was his last day in the Army and he starts college in the Spring. I'm not a gamecock fan, but if decides to pull for them, I can too for games in order to support him.
Additionally, I start my transition to civilian life on Monday. I don't retire for a good while, but yeah, I'm done. My frustration is starting to show so it's best for both me and the Army.
One of my dudes, PFC Ebenezer Bender, was wounded trying to interdict a vehicle we thought had Bergdahl. He was shot in both the pelvis and his calf. He lost his lower leg, but otherwise he recovered well.
The incident was captured on a helmet camcorder and I use the video to aid in a class I give to new lieutenants. Not too much blood, but it helps make several points taught in the class.
I'm done with the Army because I don't recognize it anymore, it just doesn't make sense. My son shares the same sentiments, so we both agree that it's time to let things take their course
