I just heard a woman on TV say that if a man pays a woman a compliment on her appearance then he’s sexually harassing her, and if it’s to a teenage girl then he’s a pervert. I realize that the words chosen, and context are factors, and I know there’s more to compliment a person on besides their appearance, but usually a compliment is just that, a compliment. If a man says “Hey, great knockers!” I would say that’s harassment, but sayin “You look stunning tonight.” I would consider that a compliment, even if it is to a young girl all dressed up for the prom. So in my mind anyway women are in danger of losing support if it becomes inappropriate to even pay a compliment to them.
