Our fanbase seems to hate any idea of a Mullen hire but I think he might just be a decent fit.

Kelly didn't want to come here- From what I have read, it seems he took the easy road with UCLA.

Frost does not appear to want this job either. Seems he wants to go coach at his Alma Mater (can't blame him there).

Mullen (by all accounts) wants to coach here. He wants (save his wife) to live here and he has been successful here.

Okay- Here is why I am going to get torched

Our fans are acting like millennials here- We want a shiny new coach who can come in here and magically turn things around in 6 months. A man, who without any effort can just turn things around just by their name. It doesn't happen that way, folks. This is going to take a herculean effort and several years, We had 53 scholarship players yesterday. We have not kept up recruiting well and our players do not seem to be getting better from the coaching presently being offered them. Thinking we can bring in a magic man is just not possible. Spurrier was an anomaly, Urban inherited some pretty good players and since then the cupboard has been a bit bare.

I was there yesterday, folks- This is not a one year project. It will take a dedicated coach, who is willing to put in the work from day one to make this program great again. If Stricklin believes that man is Dan Mullen (s)- lol than I am going to embrace that hire and hopefully watch the rebuilding of our program. Because I think he wants to be here, is a proven commodity, and will work from day one to make us better. He isn't the sexy hire we all wanted- but we are not that sexy a program right now.

I can't wait until we are again the sexiest program in Florida.
