Since very few people are up, here is a bonus story. They just interviewed Kevin White on TV.... he did me a huge favor when he was the AD at Notre Dame. He taught a course in sports management and he had Bill Polian come up one day to talk to his class. He was running late, so he asked if I could get Bill at the airport and take him to dinner. Uh, yes. I talked to Bill and did a very cool research project with the Colts using NFL draft combine data to predict performance on the field using Wonderlic (IQ) data. Most interesting thing I have ever done. Never published though because Gene Upshaw (NFL players association president at the time) incorrectly thought I was going to use the data to embarrass them. My intention was the opposite: to show that IQ predicts performance even in jobs where physical tools are obviously of prime importance.
