I'm hispanic. My extended family did it the right way legally more than 55 years ago. 

It's heartbreaking without  a doubt. The last President did indeed have the same type of actions conducted in his 8 years. 

It's definitely NOT 'white privilege' like someone suggested. If you use that term to describe this you need to understand that term. 

The bigger picture is of course to find a better way. For now though it's very hard for me to argue against taking this type of action, even if it seems and is heartless 

I agree it seems unfair to those who went through all of the trouble to immigrate here through the proper channels BUT:

The man in this case presented himself to ICE routinely and we allowed him to work. He followed our laws as we led him to understand them. It is not his fault that WE did not follow our own laws. Now we are changing the rules of the game midstream and by doing so are disrupting the lives of a productive resident of the US.

This is an example as to why we need immigration reform..but I would strive to find some temporary remedy for those such as this guy in the interim.
