"RE: So it's a BAD thing...." |
|
Message Replied To ========== So it's a BAD thing.... ... that people have sources of information and discussion beyond the monopoly of biased liberal national media outlets like in the bad old days before cable news and the internet? Uh uh, no way! ==============================Sites like InfoWars are indeed a bad thing. Sean Hannity is frantically waving his arms at InfoWars and yelling "wait for me". And Tucker Carlson is right behind him. It's noise. It contributes nothing but dissonance. It is what "fake news" really is. And on a network that does have a legitimate news operation, airing the likes of Hannity is grossly irresponsible, particularly when he ignores reporting from Fox's own news division, as he did the other night and in subsequent nights. Don't get me started on Fox & Friends. Trump views the world through their lens. (Side note - Trump's definition of "fake news" is "news I don't like".) And one more thing: it's not "conservative" either. It's driven completely by Trump's cult of personality, and a great deal of cynicism on the part of Fox. Their executives are laughing all the way to the bank. Hannity is dumber than a brick, but I doubt even he believes half of what he spews. Now, are there positives to the Internet and all the info that is out there? Of course. And I think the positives outweigh the negatives, but we could argue about that all day. |
