I have never had a problem with responsible gun ownership for purposes of hunting, etc. even though I myself have never been and will never be interested in owning a gun.  But enough is enough.  How many people are going to have to die for stubborn gun advocates to admit gun control has to be part of the solution?

Below someone argues the only thing keeping the US free is our adversaries fear of each and every American owning a gun.  BS weak argument. Russia/China/whoever isn't going to attack by landing troops on our shores.  That happened long ago because what other options of attack were there?  If the UK had intercontinental ballistic missiles back then, do you not think they would have tried that first?!  And if it came down to that, would we not be able to ramp up production and provide citizens with weapons? 

Then there is the argument that bad people will get guns anyway.  But the EFFORT required to acquire one would be vastly different. And the act of pursuing would likely draw more attention and give more time to be noticed. If NO ONE was supposed to have a gun, wouldn't it draw MORE attention when someone has one?

 If the argument is people cause deaths, not guns, then why not let people have grenade launchers, fully functional tanks, missiles, etc. By themselves, the just sit still and cause no harm. I'm sure they are fun on the range!  Or is our tolerance to allow 10's to be killed but not 100's?

I would hate to be the person who has to look seventeen families in the eye and say - sorry about your luck, I need to have some fun at the range, go hunting every season, be at the ready for the next land invasion...wish your loved one had been packing to protect themselves because this is the world we live in.  NO! This is the world we have made!

I 'm sure this won't change anyone's mind one way or another, but after the 41st mass shooting 2 months into 2018 - 82 deaths which is DOWN from the 106 deaths the first two months of 2017, I had to rant!
