our thoughts and prayers is at best absurd. Something like 90 plus percent of American say that they pray and to express some concern about someone praying or thinking about them is stupid imho. To condem their comment is imho just as stupid and I pray that my outrage of concern about this condomnation of this is also a prayer for those who say this to have a change of heart. To use a saying as an avoidance of a conversation of gun control legislation or mental health changes or any othe rpolicy debate is also wrong but don't presuppose this upon anyone.

1.  Only the most gullible of even the Trump supporters would believe that Trump is actually praying for the victims.  If there is any praying by Trump it is that the shooter will turn out to be a Mexican or Muslim.

2.  “Prayers sent” is a nice thing to say to troubled friends when you are impotent to do anything that could actually help.  But “prayers sent” when your friend is facing eviction after a job loss when what he needs is $200 is a cynical dodge.  That is more akin to Trump’s proclamation of prayers.  Trump is in a position to push for an examination on how we may make meaningful changes to our out of control gun culture.  But we all know that as the leader of the NRA bought and paid for Republican Party he has no intentions of doing so.

Calling Trump out on his cynical pretend prayers is warranted.
