On what objective basis can you show that the other answers are wrong?============================== It is found in the Gospels. Christ prayed to be able to accept and carryout God's Will. Prayer is not a list for Santa Claus. God will grant our requests, but according to our needs not our wants. And our needs transcend this world and what we think we need and want. Christ was very clear on that. Prayer can be meditative, worshipful and even petitionary but in the end it is always a request to be a better servant of God. Christianity is not a democracy. What one Christian may believe does not make it true Christianity. Those who think prayer exists for them to get what they want are forgetting the Gospels. |
