that if Israel is responsible for the actions for his deputies and Sheriff Israel works for Rick Scott, if you are going to demand accountability from the top it needs to go ALL the way to the top. I just threw the stuff about Irma in there to point out how Scott's hypocrisy here.==============================

to the Governor is as an elected official.  The governor does not hire an elected sheriff, nor does the sheriff answer directly to a governor.  Whatever issues one has with Scott, the performance of the Broward Sheriff's Office is the responsibility of the Broward Sheriff.  He answers to the voters whom elected him, and it is for them that he and his employees serve.  Trying to blame Scott for Israel's responsibilities is tantamount to doing the same for any school board chairperson, mayor, fire chief, or county health director in the state.
