1. When was the last time you talked to somebody in poverty?.... They don't have much spirit. A guaranteed basic standard of living would in fact unleash man's spirit! Many more people would be free to pursue their dreams without having to worry about slaving away the majority of their time doing something they barely tolerate and often times hate. 

2. Oh please spare us all the Godwin analogies. Hitler is dead, long dead, and gone and he never said or did anything on this topic anyway. 

3. Maybe we should lose God, at least a must have dependency on any God. I mean if any individual wants to have any God they like that they have decided upon from their own critical thought and free will that's all well and good. There is no requirement that every society have a God however, no reason whatsoever, having Gods like that has often times done immense damage to mankind.

(I am not denying having Gods has also done good nor do I want to have the impossible to conclude debate of whether Gods have done more right or wrong.) 

making the state a god is the worst thing possible. Making people more dependent on the state is the wrong direction.

The idea of a universal basic income is a very workable idea..until it isn't. What about those who blow their basic income on frivolous things? Does the rest of the social net still exist to care for them (or their children)? I fear such an idea is just another government program to drain the earnings from hard working people...and that it will have little effect in drawing people out of poverty.
