I accept that protectionism is a political value in this country that has broad and deep roots. And, as I've shown, I'm willing to meet anyone on the field of battle to address the merits of this philosophy.

What is not really questionable to my mind is that "yellow peril" is a racist comment. Period. I make no assessment of Hump's character or anyone that stars his posts. But there is no question to my mind of this reality.

As I have mentioned I have many Chinese friends, and I would be deeply ashamed if they read that. We can disagree politically but we should not let xenophobic excrement cloud our discussions.
