But there are players on both teams, and these other players are young women who are much like ours, and their feelings are no less overwhelming in a loss. 

The most poigant moment I saw last night was well after the game was over, the cheering had abated, and most of the fans had filed out to their cars.  It was then that, following A&M tradition, the six Aggie seniors huddled at home plate.  They hugged each other and accepted the moment while also rememberigng all the other moments they had shared over the past four years; the highs and lows, the great success and bitter defeats, but most importantly the bond forged between these players.  Then these six seniors each gently placed their cleats on the home plate of the field where they had played their last game together.   Finally, they turned away from them knowing the end of their ride together had come as they walked off toward tomorrow.
