"I agree"

Message Replied To ==========

Because you're drawing a false equivalence

Kids coming into the country illegally without their parents and being held in custody simply isn't the same thing as us purposefully ripping the kids away from their parents in an attempt to send a message.  I can't imagine how one can not see the difference.

Again, we can't control their decisions, we can only control how we handle the aftermath.

==============================

The issue is separating the kids from their parents, not placing them in refugee camps. There have been problems keeping track of the kids after their time in the refugee camps. The Obama Administration had a problem with slave traders "claiming" kids as family. Trying to prevent that is what led to so many being held by the last Administration. Separating the kids when they show up with their parents is even worse knowing that history.

Trump is doing this to put pressure on Congress to pass immigration reform. And it is reprehensible no matter how you look at it.
