It's hard to interpret that as anything but racist...which is what she is now trying to do in the aftermath of the blowback she is getting and of the support she is getting from White Supremicist groups who have embraced her comments.

IMO her comments pretty much nailed a big part of the Trump cult appeal to many in this country who have either quietly or not so quietly shared that sentiment as they have watched the demographics change in their area.

Until her backtracking yesterday, one could almost respect her for saying what many were thinking (agreement or disagreement aside).  BUT if that's how you feel, and you believe the country is changing based on more blacks or hispanics etc., it seems people should at least own it and not downplay the cries of racism by minorites who claim they see it and experience it.

Both sides of my family immigrated here from Europe (and not that long ago!), some legally, some illegally.   Pretty much everyone here is from immigrant roots, unless you are Native American.   Who the #badword# am I to say that's not what this country was founded on and is part of our identity and imo what makes us a great nation? I just don't get this mindset that now, somehow, if you're what you call "white" that you have some kind chip on your shoulder like we are being invaded and displaced. Yes.  We should protect our borders.   Yes, waves of illegal immigration is not what we want and causes problems .  But dont forget where you came from!
