Message Replied To ========== How Trump favored Texas over Puerto Rico  https://www.politico.com/story/2018/03/27/donald-trump-fema-hurricane-maria-response-480557 ==============================there were any number of shortcomings & failures (depending on how one defines them) associated with the relief effort. But as the article points out, East Texas and Puerto Rico are vastly different in economies, population, and resources ..... not to mention that PR is still an island. Just as a side note to be considered, there are more people who live in Harris County, TX (Houston) than live on the entire island of Puerto Rico .... not to mention the other folks affected in SE Texas and Louisiana. It should also be noted that there are more people of color in that area than reside on the entire island of Puerto Rico. Let that sink in when searching for reasons why somebody did or didn't do something based on race. |
