Usually private school dicks from wealthy, prominent families, entitled and arrogant, lots of times products of  misogynistic daddys and subservient mommies.  This kind of behavior is learned.  

FTR, nobody but the people who were there knows what really happened all those years ago.  We will never know for sure.   I do find it kind of hard to believe that this is some kind of deliberate smear campaign orchestrated by the Democrats to keep him off the court.  I think he was likely a punk in HS and college, and I'm pretty sure he did some of the stuff he is being accused of.

our body politic is obsessed with appointing graduates from Harvard and Yale. Those are the two best law schools in the world, so it makes sense. 

But when we limit our options to these schools we limit ourselves in a way that is very un-American. One of the most brilliant aspects of our country's design was the concept of manifest destiny. 

Our country isn't built on a caste system, nor is it a monarchy. 

Yet, we have gravitated toward a system in which the same handful of families govern hundreds of millions of people. We favor the ancestors of those who came over on the Mayflower and we promote private over public schools and universities. This is not what America is supposed to be about. 

Look at the POTUS who allegedly targeted a "Harvard or Yale" grad for this appointment and went on record for belittling the legal training provided by the University of Alabama (in mocking Sessions). 

And the elitism that I'm discussing is not exclusive to any one party. The Dems are JUST as culpable in their favortism of certain families and certain schools. Actually, both the left and right use the Ivies as their cover for favoring certain lines of "good American breeding." 

The rest of us are afterthoughts.

But that doesn't stop us from bickering for our respective sides and pretending that we are valued. 

So don't be surprised that Kavanaugh was a douchebag in prep school. He went to prep school. People from his stock, no matter their political leanings, act as if nothing touches them because...well...nothing touches them. Soooooo many of them were the bad guys from every John Houghs movie. It's only natural that they grow into the bad guys from Oliver Stone's Wall Street. 

For some examples of what I mean...on the right I can point to W who went AWOL from a posh appointment that allowed him to avoid Vietnam while doing more blow than a 1980s ski instructor. On the left there are the Kennedys- need I say more? Fine examples of Yale and Harvard men....and by "fine" I mean typical. 

Perhaps it's time we look in other directions for our justices and presidents. It's clear that the best schools do not necessarily produce the best jurists and candidates.
