When we started the Virtual Swamp in 1996, my son was 5, and my daughter was just 3.

Life happens, and this morning at about 9AM, my beautiful daughter made me a grandfather. 

My granddaughter (wow does it feel strange to type that) came into the world a month ahead of schedule, actually while they were in West Palm for what they thought would be their last chance to get away before her due date.  We drove up from Boca to have dinner with them (my bride and me along with my mom and my son) and i kissed her goodbye and told her i will see her in Orlando next month.  Little did any of us know that God had other plans. I had recorded the Gator game, came home and watched it in its glorious entirety without knowing the outcome beforehand, and went to sleep.

My phone rang at 12:30 AM.

Mother and baby are doing well, and while she is premature, she looks and seems healthy and strong.  

Oh, and my wife and I leave for Paris on Thursday for a belated honeymoon!

I have to say growing older isn’t so bad after all.
