OK, Vandy is primarily a passing attack that averages about 240yds/game. They complete about 60% with an average of 7.4 yards per attempt. The throw about 60% of the time and have only given up 4 sacks.  Many many quick passes but they do go down field in the 10-20 yard range. They are ranked 83rd in rushing yards per game and they have 50/50 balance in tendency between run and pass with a slight edge to running it. 

In the games against SEC opponents and ND, they favored a more passing oriented offense (especially against ND). IN these three games the yds per attempted pass was much lower.  They give up few sack and few picks.  Mostly short yardage passes. to keep defenses honest. They averaged about 110 rushing yds per game against these three opponents. 138 against UGah. Vandy's QB is not a running threat at all.

So this is a weaker rushing team that thrives on short quick safe passes for most of its offense. So their offensive strength against our defensive strength. Huge win for the Gators.

Vandy is 80th in passing ypg allowed and 75th in rushing ypg allowed. 82nd in total ypg allowed.

So I look for a tight show 2 defensive scheme with 6-7 in the box to try to force everything in the air wide and baiting the run. They don't scramble or run the QB. HUGE pressure on 3rd and long.

Vandy was successful passing on ND in primarily the 15-20 yard range along the sidelines primarily to the QBs left and less so in the middle.  Nothing of merit to the right. 

Vandy had real difficulty picking up backs out of the backfield, particularly on wheel route down the right side and tight ends from any position against ND

Against USCe, one TD was the result of an interception. 

Against UGAh, one was late 4th quarter. 

I said before the year that we should score 40+ against Vandy...I stick to that especially since we are playing better on offense and our D strength is squarely in opposition to their offensive strength.  Vandy will have many 3-and-outs. My prediction...45-6.
