is tomorrow. How quickly it goes. Just like yesterday he was in grade school then middle, then playing HS FB and wrestling for a state title...and now, 6 months from graduating from UF. Knowing that this is his last game there, I played "Little League Parent" on Tuesday, took a shot in the dark, and e-mailed Jeremy Foley about why the 4- year Student-Trainers and Managers aren't honored in some way (but not the same way, of course. In no way am I equating my son's role or importance to that of the players.) for their years of hard work and loyalty to the UF FB program, as the players are at mid-field there last game. He IMMEDIATELY e-mailed me back, said it was a great suggestion, and he apologized and didn't know why this hadn't benn instituted before....so, this Saturday, and for future years to come at the last home game, the Senior members who live/work about 70 hours a week in the SEZ during the season will be announced and thanked. Assistant Ath. Director Jamie Spiegler e-mailed me a bit later, saying that their names (only about 3 of them are 4th year) will be announced/Jumbotroned before the game (approx. 34 minutes before kickoff) and between the 1st and 2nd quarter. That felt good to hear, not just for my kid and a few others this Saturday, but for the future support staff kids whose loyalty and dedication to UF's success should not be overlooked. Maybe only a father or a mother would understand this next statement, but we are both very proud of him, his commitment to the program, his hard-work ethic, his loyalty to Coach Spurrier and Coach Zook, and we are VERY thankful that he chose his mother and fathers university to attend...imo, the finest in the land, "THE" University of Florida..
