Message Replied To ========== An important Gator stat this year........ Maybe most important stat that isn't reported top of the fold all the time, turnover margin. Last year we took the ball away a total of 17 times, gave it away 20 for a -3 TOM. This year we have already taken it away 18 times (tied for #1 in the country) and have given it away 9 times for a +9 TOM. That's huge. BBG ==============================2017: 113 plays 652 yards 5.8 yds/ play, 47.8% efficiency and 23.2% of all plays. 2018: 46 plays 335 yards 7.4 yds/ play, 73.9% efficiency and only 9.4% of all plays. Biggest difference opponents can’t get away with extra defenders in the box and blow up every other Gator play and overload blitz the OL and QB without any fear. In fact teams have had to back off. |
