So of course the media frames it as if it's a legitimate question to be fact checked, why don't they just say Trump is lying.

AND the relative assurance that they can get into the US with little or no repercussions thanks to the lack of action by Congrss over the years.  We need immigration.  We also need secure borders.  Were it not for the politics being played by BOTH sides on this issue, it might be possible to drastically improve the situation as it currently exists, even if we cannot eliminate the bad conditions in Central America (or the rest of the world, for that matter).  So in this instance, Trump is correct, but he is omly partly correct.  He also shares responsibility for inflaming the debate, imo.
