his religion or ethnicity has essentially nothing to do with disagreement on politics and policy.  George is a very wealthy individual who has used his money to further these interests in a rather public way.  THIS is how he has become a "boogieman" for many who do not share his progressive views.  He has become somewhat of an icon that someone with similar views and passions, but without the means to promote them at anywhere near the same level, would not.  He enjoys a status akin to the Koch brothers.  It has almost nothing to do with anit-Semitism for most conservatives, imo ..... though labeling those on the other side as racists, homophobes, anti-whatever seems to be a popular endeavor by many on the left.
