"IMO, we need to have different levels of certification for different types of weapons. " |
|
Message Replied To ========== again, what law would have prevented this? and would it be ruled constitutional given the current makeup of the courts?============================== I sound like a broken record, but feel i have to restate this.... I am pro 2nd amendment . I own guns . I shoot frequently in many different kinds of settings, from skeet/trap to hunting to plinking. I grew up w guns . I would be fine having to wait a week or two to buy a glock 21 and extended magazines . I should have to prove that I'm sane, that I am a suitable owner and user of firearm that can kill so many people so quickly . It should, IMO, be difficult to acquire and own such weapons . And yes, we can sit down and work together to figure out which types of weapons and configurations require additional licensing /certification . This isn't a "slippery slope " to take everyone's guns away. There are a lot of people like me (and who post here ) who want to see common sense applied to this public health issue and we still want to be able to own guns . Many on the right have been poisoned by the NRA and extremists in the R party . We wont let guns be illegal . Also, how about allowing the CDC to do the research about gun violence as a public health issue? You know the NRA doesn't GAF about the constitution, right ? They are a lot like trump , they care first about $$. BBG |
