Personally, I'd try to do that by first actually listening to their concerns and doing somethiing about them rather than continuing to insist they're ignorant and need re-education. For the most part, they just want steady work, a clear vision of a future for them and their families, and belief that their interests are being taken into account, culturally.

It's amazing how much more involved and engaged people are when they believe their elected officials actually give a sh-t about them.
