someone who is an fsu fan truly defend this man. My gosh, he has done everything humanly possible to deserve "excommunication" from college football. Really, would anyone really want their son to play for him? He is an awful embarrassment. How he still has a job leading young men is beyond me. Combine him with Wetherall and Hart and you have the 3 stooges of college athletics. The problem is, he has about 3 things in his favor: (1) He continues to win, on a broad scale, and (2) He is old. His age is a factor in letting all of this crap go. If he was 20 years younger the world would be less forgiving and (3) He has done a masterful job in kissing the media's ass. With the exception of the occasional "fly by" negative column (see Bianchi, this week) no one in this great state of ours will truly call him out. Call it his "open door policy" or his "aw shucks, dadgummit" history, or his open door policy, or his Sunday morning breakfasts, or whatever, the fact that he has been "constant" (UF has had the non-media friendly, bless him by the way, Coach SOS) or Miami's revolving door (Shnellengberger, Johnson, Ericcson, Davis, Coker), he gets great pub in the rags that dot our state. For some reason, (facts don't back this up no matter what you say) he has been given a free pass...
He is disgusting. Not because he "ain't a Gator" or any other reason. Because he has piloted the most awful, tainted, program seen in the country the last 15 years. More arrests, more on the field problems, more stupid comments, etc.... The guy "prayed for a misdemeanor", wrote a letter for this kid, had Randy Moss on his team participating during spring practice while spending the weekends, in jail, working out a deal with Julian Pittman, etc... Hey fsu fans: "What does it take!!!!!!" Its time for you to stand up!!! Face it: You don't deserve your farewell tour. You deserve a total house cleaning. Don't you see it?!?!?!?
I guess what bothers me the most is that most all fsu fans continue to defend him and don't recognize that, at the end of the day, he has sold them a bill of goods and constantly lessens the reputation of that university. There ain't much room left. Even that bastion of morality, Hollywood, continues to take shots at your school because of the policies of your football coach, athletic director, and president. That is pretty sad....
