Yeah, I critisize our coaches, but they did not give this game away. UT won it. Very gutsy call by Phil to go for it on 4th and 6 with 6:00 left. Sometimes you have to go take it. UT did. I'm happy for Wilhoit. He didn't deserve the rath of VolNation. Big kick from that kid. IMO, we played soft. That's been a trait of our defenses for a long, long time. We usually had a comfortable lead, so it didn't backfire too many times. Last night with the game on the line, we played soft on Offense. True, we should have given them that ball back with 80 yards to go and 25 seconds left. Still, we put the game in the hands of our punter and our Defense instead of our best player. It blows my mind that we will throw a swing pass, backwards, 4 yards deep into our own endzone on 3rd and 8-9 from our 4 yard line earlier in the game, yet we won't attempt anything that isn't "safe" with the game in our control and the clock inside 1 minute. Zook didn't slap anyone to lose 15 yards and stop the clock. Zook didn't drop at least 2 passes for TDs and deflect another sure TD. Zook didn't step on Leak's foot at the goal line. Zook didn't miss a chipshot FG. Zook didn't have control of those things. What he did have control of was our strategy at the end of the game. We chose to punt and we lost yet another game to a miracle 4th QTR comeback. It's getting very old and it sux.
