Really, I am. I'm over this whole darn bad dream.
I can't defend this guy any longer. I've been on his side for three years. Every time somebody says "he can't cut the mustard", I say "give him time". Every time someone says "he's a horrible gameday coach", I say "he's a great recruiter". Everytime someone says "he calls bad plays" I say "it's not him out there dropping passes."
Well, no more. I'm done being an apologist for this guy. I won't be the fool at the postgame tailgate any longer. I won't be the moron around the office cooler saying "give him time. Now, he's got HIS players for HIS system. Now, we'll finally see what he can do." I'm done being the guy arguing with all these Noles up here in Tallhassee and telling them that we're improving each week.
I'm sick of sitting in the Swamp knowing in my heart of hearts that even though LSU has to go 50 yards and they only have a minute or so to do it, there is no way on God's green earth that we are going to stop them.
I am sick of hoping that we actually run a bubble screen down in the red zone so we might actually convert a third down once in a while.
I'm sick of "it's correctable".
I am sick of idiotic personal foul penalties that hint at a deeper problem, one that screams of a lack of discipline when it matters most.
I am sick of mindless babbling during halftime interviews that make you wonder what kind of coffee this guy is drinking.
I am sick of being teased by other fans on this board that maybe we should "take a team vote" when punishment is an issue.
I am sick of losing when we've got the lead with under two minutes to go.
I am sick of horrible, HORRIBLE clock management at the end of every single first half in every single game.
I am sick of reading smarmy columnists from around the state and the south and the nation come up with new and innovative ways to let GatorNation know that the rest of the football world views us at best as middle-of-the-pack in the SEC.
I am sick of watching teams come into the Swamp and laugh as they merely stop to refuel on their way past midfield on the way to the endzone.
But mostly, I'm sick of Ron Zook.
