10/15/02...Heisman hopeful Rex Grossman rallies UF with a TD in the last minute to lead UF to a 21-17 win at Ole Miss. The Gator offense had struggled all day against the Rebels but Grossman drove the team 70 yards capped off with a 18 yard strike to Ben Troupe. UF has now won four in a row after a disasterous home loss to Miami.
11/30/02....UF knocks of South Carolina 28-7 to capture the SEC East Championship. Grossman led the Gators with four TD passes. UF won for the 8th time in a row to win the East in a tie breaker over Georgia. UF had knocked of the Bulldogs two weeks ago in a dramatic 20-13 upset win in Jacksonville.
12/7/02... UF (9-3) will face surprising Arkansas for the SEC title later today....
9/6/03- UF Stuns the 'Canes in the Orange Bowl, holds off Miami rally for a 33-31 win. Brock Berlin's late INT seals the victory for the Gators. UF is now 3-0 on the season.
10/4/03- Gator goal line stand preserves win over Ole Miss 17-13. In a defensive struggle, UF holds off upset minded Ole Miss to win behind their freshman QB Chris Leak and stay alive in the SEC East race.
11/15/03- Zook makes it two in a row in the SEC East with a sloppy 24-22 win at South Carolina. After an early season loss to UT the Gators have ripped off seven straight wins including a victory over UGA to put them in control of the division. Picked by many to finish third in the East, UF is again champion this time with a freshman QB leading the way.
11/29/03- UF overcomes refs and 'Noles to win thriller 34-31. Leak won for the 8th straight time as the Gator starter. Still the game was in doubt until FSU QB Chris Rix heaved up a jump ball in the Gator end zone that was picked off by Gus Scott with under a minute to go. UF improves to 11-1.
12/6/03- UF (11-1) versus LSU (11-1) for the SEC championship. The winner will likely earn a spot in the BCS Championship game versus either Oklahoma or USC. The Gators won the regular season matchup 19-7 in Baton Rouge.
