"A great Gator died today. Long live the Gators...."

Sad, sad day in PC Gatorville. The picture with SOS comes down off the wall tonight along with the plaque that he signed to me and Mrs. PC Gator. If I can get the Sharpie off, I'll put it back up. Otherwise, I'll strip the wood and refinish it sans SOS's signature. In the end it was all about SOS's ego. I gave him a pass on the BS way he left 3 years ago. There was no good way to leave, I figured. True, the players shouldn't have to hear it on ESPN. True, JF should have gotten some warning. Still, I figured it was kinda like taking a band-aid off. It's best sometimes just to snatch it off and start getting over the pain. This time, he doesn't get the benifit of the doubt. He doesn't want the job. If he did, he would be our coach next year. Only SOS could keep SOS from coaching the Gators next year. Clearly, he doesn't want the job. He'd prefer coaching a Divisional rival. He'd rather go into each year with his primary objective to make UF and every other SEC East team miss the SECCG. He'd rather try to break the hearts of Gator fans everywhere than to go through "the process". That sux! Funny, I used to think that it wasn't just all about the money. That SOS coached mostly out of love for the school and the team. I mean, after a few $100K or so a year, it's all just gravy anyway. In the end it was all just a job. Hell, there are jobs everywhere. Coaches come and coaches go. SOS's ego is bigger than UF. We saw that today.
