Things I think I needed to say.
I have to say I am really impressed with the things he is doing at the University. I have had conversations with my son (private) about the changes, how he feels about them, why I think the changes are good for the players, and all other members of the school. I love this coaches honesty. I like the fact that he expects the same values, and effort from my son that I do. I myself have never gone to college, so the only way I got to see and enjoy the life and feeling of belonging that binds a person all their life to a University is through my children. Heck I was embarrassed when at my first game people started singing the school song and I didn't know anything about this kind of tradition or the song. This coach has made me feel like I am really a part of this University, not a bystander that will be gone when my son graduates. I promise myself to learn the words to the fight song, and be there to sing it at the end of every game I attend (win or loose). And when my son graduates this year, I will still be a GATOR till my last day on this earth, and my son will have one of the best educations I could hope for, a degree from UF. I hope to meet the new coach, and some of his staff when I go down for the spring game on 4/6 and watch some practice. I also hope to meet some of the people from the Gator boards, if you see me there feel free to come by and say hello.
Thank You University of Florida. Tom Butler
