You are ACTUALLY hanging your hats on a spring game? A freaking SPRING GAME. That's all you've got to throw at us? My answer: whatever. You Noles are sick and tired of reading the press' praises for UM3. It's eating you alive. Many of us at some time or another have checked your board out to see the reaction...and we see a VERY worried/upset Semi Nation. You can't handle that for once we have the media darling in UM3. You are scared to DEATH that the press might be right and that a new era of domination is about to begin. And worse yet, UM3 is going to do it without cheating or stooping to shady antics like...well...let's just say "other schools." First, you tried to attack our recruiting. Then UM3 became the FIRST first-year coach to sign a top 15 class. And he did it in weeks...not months. Not just that, you see the class he's already working on for next year and you understand that he can recruit. Second, you made light of our winter work out sessions. While the media fawned over our new routines you belly ached about how you guys have been doing what we are doing for years. You bitched like neglected children who were being deprived of hugs and affection. It was sad...really. Third, you attacked the pit. Some of you even dragged the race card out. At minimum, you "warned" about how "injured" players would become even more injured EVEN THOUGH the pit only works the muscles that are not affected by the injury. You "warned" of impending doom EVEN THOUGH UM3 had pits at EVERY SCHOOL he coached. AND those schools still maintain the practice WITH SUCCESS. Deep down you envied the pit. You liked what is being done. You just need ammo. Again, sad. And now you are attacking his approach to the FREAKIN SPRING GAME???? You cry for the defense saying that its, "not fair" to handcuff them. By implication, you are trying to make the argument that our offense is doomed and will not work...simply because of measures taken in a damn practice???? Never mind what Herbstreit said about the offense. Never mind what your own Nole buddy Corso said about our new system...those guys know jack squat...right? No. You CAN'T believe that. You can't deal with the fact that we are in the middle of something BIG, something that will blow past you like you were standing still. You can't come to grips with that. So you keep taking shots. Here's a little tid bit semi...the offense is NOT where it needs to be. UM3 OPENLY admits that little factoid. But we are implementing a new system. It's normal for the D to be ahead of the offense. But I'll go further; my bet is that next year our system won't operate on full cylinders. It won't be a fined tune machine. It will be less than perfect. I EXPECT that. UM3 expects that. He's stated as much. And that's ok. Hell, it's normal. New systems take months and sometimes years to fully implement. Does that mean we will suck next year? Hell no. Does that mean the offense won't cut it in the SEC? Of course not. That just means that we are going through growing pains. Yet here's the kicker, we are growing. We aren't going backwards. We aren't getting worse on offense, we are getting better. Same goes on defense and special teams. We have a coach that we believe in. And that kills you. Because not so deep down you realize that Bobby isn't the same man he was 10 years ago. Deep down you understand that your school is handcuffed (way more than our D in the O & B) because it is STUCK with an offense coordinator who is incompetent. Deep down you know that the hire of a position coach will not salvage the sinking ship that is your offense. It's sad really. You are sad Bullish. Pathetic even. But hey, that's what you get for cheering for the wrong damn school.
