The Gators are done and gone. Get over it you orange and blue glasses wearing optimists. Zook is to UF what Scrappy Do was to Scooby Do, what the Great Gazoo was to the Flinstones - the death knell of a once fine program. There is no hope. There is no future, other than the bleak expanse of never ending 6-5 seasons or worse. The Gators will soon be recruiting kids from HS soccer teams just to try and fill out the roster, girl's HS soccer teams. We will revert to the single wing offense in the hope that uniqueness will confound our mighty opponents, at least for a drive or two. We will score what paltry few points we can by resorting to the drop kick. We may even do stupid things like taking a safety on third down, or forgetting to play the best running back available. Shame and humiliation will be our only companions. We will be Vandy's annual homecoming opponent. It's proabably only a matter of time until the SEC asks us to move on so they can replace UF with Duke. Just as Bama never won an SEC title after the Bear left... What? Okay, just as Bama never won an SEC title after Bear and his protegee Stallings were gone... What? DUBOSE?!?? Are you serious? You have GOT to be kidding me! Okay, bad example, just trust me that SEC championships are fading memories never to be repeated. Spurrier was the only coach in the history of creation that could ever win at Florida and we've lost him. Our lot is now that of also-ran, pretender, fodder for the contenders. Never again will UF have another All-SEC player let alone an All-American. In just three games Zook has driven this team so far south that being burried would look like a move up from here. What has been built over the last 20 years or so was washed away in 9 short months. There is no coming back from the lowly station we have reached. Respectability? You can't get there from here. It will be decades before we ever have enough fans to fill the Swamp again. In fact, we will likely convert the present football stadium into a flea market and play our games at Citizen's field. The program has been laid to waste, the ground salted, and the memories desecrated. We have reached the nadar of football existance and it is all Ron Zook's fault. If only we had listened to the gloom and doomers when they first started harping on what a bad hire this was before it even happened. Like Nostradamus they foretold what ruin Foley was buying us into. If only we had heeded their call when Zook was hired and... Well, I don't know what we were supposed to do when Spurrier left that was in the realm of reality but I bet it would have been really neat and saved the day. Only human sacrifice can save us now.
