"I humbly apologize to this team....."

I was one of those people who saw doom and gloom ahead. I didn't lose faith in Zook and the staff, mind you, I just thought the talent wasn't there, and there seemed to be no fire on the team. I predicted that UT would kill us with their potent running game. I picked UT to win by at least 10. When I saw it was raining, I thought that played right into UT's hands. I listened to all the pundits, and I believed them. I was preparing to write this year off as a learning experience for Zook and Co., and truly hoped that he wouldn't get run out of town (I really want to see what this guy can do if he brings in the talent). Thanks go out to the entire team today for teaching me a lesson I hope I never forget. Rex Grossman, under fire all day, played like a champion. Ran Carthon and Earnest Graham ran tough all day long and never gave up. Taylor Jacobs (my player of the game) made clutch catches all day, some getting crucial first downs in heavy traffic. The other receivers stepped up and made big plays. Then there's the D. Inspired play all day long. UT never got that ground game rolling. They had a couple of good drives, but that's to be expected from a team of this caliber. Last, but certainly not least, the coaching staff. Some absolutely fantastic play-calling today. Super idea of staying in the shotgun during the rain. Fantastic setups moving the pocket. Using the inside handoff at the right times. Decent pressure on Clausen, and great job of not giving up any big plays. This team was prepared to play like I haven't seen in a while. Most importantly, they looked like a team that knew they were going to win, and only one man can take the credit for getting them in that mindset. Yup, big-ass game ball to coach Zook. Once again, 2002 Gators, I apologize for losing faith, and I thank you for making me look like a complete ass in doing so.
