Some more news....
As many of you are aware, two years ago today I was in the middle of a month and a half long stay in an isolated room at Shands due to having been just diagnosed with Acute Lymphocitic Leukemia only two weeks prior. Well, I was at Shands this past Thursday for yet another monthly check up, a practice that had been going on for the last year and were much more frequent prior to that, and was quite on the edge of my proverbial seat as this visit would determine the next year and beyond as respects to this condition. I was given the following written instructions....
STOP Methotrexate
STOP Mercaptopurine
STOP Prednisone
STOP Vincristine
STOP Radiation
All of the above are chemo drugs I was on.
Have your blood counts checked bi-monthly via blood tests w/ your local doctor.
We DO NOT need to see you anymore....CHEMOTHERAPY OVER AND YOU ARE IN COMPLETE REMISSION!!!! YOU CAN RESUME YOUR NORMAL LIFE. (Assuming it was normal to begin with!;-)
The prayers and support I received from all of you played no small role in me being able to share this news. By the Grace of Wyatt Sexton, uh sorry I mean God all is well. I had to get a dig in. (Hey, they DID say return to my normal life didn't they?;-)
All kidding aside, THANK YOU ALL FOR EVERYTHING! Shands is the greatest! THANK YOU GOD!
