Cut racks in half and place ribs (bone side down) in shallow baking pan(s) I use those disposable roasing pans). Add ginger ale until ribs are completely submerged. I use Canada Dry because it's not too sweet. Usually one 2 liter bottle per pan.Cut onions in semi-thick (about 1/4 inch) slices. Place onions directly on ribs (3-4 slices per rack) Cover pan(s) with aluminum foil and bake at 275 degrees (150 C.) for 4 hours. You can shorten it and increase the temp to 300, but longer and slower means more tender.Let cool to room temperature (still covered). Place ribs on medium-high grill. Add barbecue sauce to taste. Note: Only grill ribs bone side down, no need to turn over. The will only be on the grill for a few minutes, just to sear them and bake on the BBQ sauce. The ribs will be so tender they will fall apart if you try to turn them.
