Why is it that it seems so much more fun to be a Gator fan this year than it has in several years? Of course, it's always GREAT to be a Florida Gator, but this year, it seems more FUN. When people say we were spoiled by the Spurrier era, I think it may be true, but not in the sense that statement is typically meant. Fans from other teams will say that meaning "He's gone now, get used to the idea of losing again." But that's not it at all. I woke up this morning, and the first thought that entered my head was "Oh boy, it's game day!" During any other year in the past dozen, if we were playing Ole Miss on the road, I would certainly tune in and watch and cheer on the Gators, but I wouldn't wake up full of anticipation. Spurrier got us to the point where wins were fully expected and losses were shocking. Somehow, I'm having more fun going into games not being sure of the outcome. A win seems much more satisfying and a loss is easier to take. I see a lot more spirit from our players, and I feel it more myself. I'm really enjoying myself this season! Is this crazy???
