Some Observations..what happened to banners and other festive homecoming displays, particularly at the Frats fronting University and/or 13th St? Wayne Brady was exactly as he is on TV..quick witted, funny and a great impersonator..that said, the stand up routine that preceeded him was hands down more entertaining and relevant. Gametime didnt seem to have the same HC feel to me, or maybe it was the 90 degree heat and 90% humidity and favorable water pricing..The AM session of the VS tailgate was a treat..Strada, Strata, Sartre..whatever it was, it hit the spot...cocktailing at 10am seems decadent until you realize that for most of the people gathered were not so much starting to drink at that time , merely resuming the party after a 4-5 hour respite from the previous nite .As an invited guest for the weekend, I had a chance to dig into Aberts vinyl collection, and before anybody goes off the deep end, were talking LPs. Bouncing a diamond stylus across a YES album, reviewing the liner notes from Captain Fantastic and hearing a little bit of hissing and popping over Behind Blue Eyes was nostalgic in its own way and makes me feel that todays MP3 generation have just completely missed the whole concept of a record album. Hope everyone had a great weekend catching up with old, new and virtual friends. Based on todays games I feel much better about squaring off against LSU and somewhat less so when it comes to the dawgs..lets hope the D can keep us in the game until the offense catches up..
