...and the irony is that attitude was partially (or perhaps mostly) responsible for SOS leaving (winning was no longer enough, it was how we won that mattered).  And many of those same people would have been satisfied with nobody other than SOS returning.

Maybe it would have taken a couple of losing seasons to bring some people all the way back to reality, or at least those who have no memory of the bad days of Gator football.

Being successful in college football year in and year out is HARD.  And in a conference like the SEC, it's even harder.  Even at a program with the resources of UF.  Name ONE program that hasn't had a down period.  Just one.

It can't be done.

There isn't one.  Not one

We're 5-2, with losses to two Top 10 teams on the road, and we're whining and complaining.  Part of that is the nature of being a fan, and of the passion surrounding Gator football, and it's to be expected and is healthy.  But some of it is way over the top, and unfortunately is symptomatic of just how wedded to instant gratification our society has become.
