I wouldn't feel comfortable leaving without saying thanks to some people.
I'd like to think I've met some very friendly, very knowledgable folks over here over the past couple years. I've enjoyed speaking to many of you and I've learned a lot. Thanks SW for the great icon; thanks Mud for hosting a wonderful community. I have met some folks here whom I now consider friends, and I will continue e-mailing y'all (Ray, thanks for checking up on me after the storm, but our DSL is toast, getting a new e-mail addy). In all, this is a great place with great people, and I have learned a lot from you guys.
But unfortunately, an e-mail was sent to my superintendant regarding my posting habits, which include posting from work as well as from home; during the schoolyear and during the summer; before school hours and after. It seems Ed (yes, I know who it is) has a problem with me personally and has chosen to do the cowardly thing and not confront me. For those of you who post from work, beware, for one of your own has decided he is the arbitor of right and wrong, and he judges those who post from work, or not, deciding what must be considered "working hours". I'm betting his message was hypocritical if nothing else as I'm certain he has posted from work, as do most of us here. But I digress....
I am in no way in trouble, and wasn't even asked to stop posting here by my superiors. They know me, have visited my classroom and evaluated me for 12 years, and my abilities in the classroom and the positive impact I've had on thousands of students is validated by my awards, evaluations, and the feedback I get from former students. I can assure you, Ed, that I'm not "wasting taxpayer dollars", as you say. But I feel its probably best I stop posting here. Many of you made me feel very welcome, and I'm sorry if my intentions were sometimes misconstrued, but I do respect most all of you, and will even miss KGA and Tom. ;-) Heck, I'll even miss Hump.
I was hoping to meet many of you this weekend at the VS tailgate before the Vandy game, but I'm not so sure I should stop by. Good luck this weekend. I'd make a list of who I'd miss, but I'd be accused of baiting (just kidding). Besides, the list would take hours to read.
I don't mind leaving my only working e-mail addy with many of you, and if you would like to speak to me or if you're ever in town or need anything, let me know.

Take care, y'all.
