when you suggest this board wouldn't exist without SOS.  A brief history for you....I graduated from UF in 1982 and returned to South Florida.  As I'm sure many of us did back then (pre-net), I religiously scoured every publication I could get my hands on and every other form of sports media for anything Gator related.  I bought my first VCR so I could tape Charlie Pell shows on Sunday mornings.  I bought Athlons for the two sentences they would have about Gator football during the off-season.  In 1992 I got a hold of my first computer.  I heard of something called a modem and bought a 2400 baud modem and somehow figured out how to install it in my computer.  I signed up for something called Prodigy and when I got online, the very first thing I did was search for anything Florida Gators.  I know for a fact I would have done that had it been 1982 or 1992.

I would be very surprised to learn that you, of all people, weren't fully aware of the loyal nature of UF's fanbase pre-SOS.  Sure we gained a much, much, much higher degree of national acclaim during the 90s...but UF was always known as an underacheiving sleeping giant with a rabid following.  I love Steve Spurrier and deeply appreciate all he did for us in the 90s.  But to suggest that he is the reason we as fans are Gators is not doing our University it's just due.
