"Pell was a Nixon-like figure"

He had a hell of a lot of ability and did a lot of good.....yet nobody remembers him for the good he did but only for his excesses.....and none of his excesses were necessary.  Charley Pell was a lousy gameday coach.  Yet he was such a good salesman and organizer that it wouldn't have mattered in the long run.  The only person who couldn't see it was he himself.  Out of insecurity he took shortcuts he didn't need to take and ultimately destroyed himself as a result.  As for our enemies (scUM and sow) they are going to throw whatever crap they can at us no matter what so F them.  I couldn't care less.  All Charley had to do was believe in himself as much as he could persuade others to believe in him.  Sadly, he failed that test.
