"They'd have gotten away with it if..." |
|
whoever was recruiting Rolle for fsu had just told him to "keep it down home" about being recruited by the governor. This would have just gone on and on. FSU's and Weatherell's only regret in this, I assure you, is getting caught at it. This should be of no surprise to anyone. It fits right in with fsu's method of operating, when it comes Bowden's and fsu's seeking unequal recruiting advantage at the expense of Florida taxpayers. OUR taxes pay that governer's salary, and they know that, but they don't care, if they can get away with it. Same goes for Bowden's and fsu's use of state business jets to personally fly recruits to and from fsu at taxpayer expense. Talk about an unequal recruiting advantage!!! They should have been given the death penalty just for the audacity of that. They'd have gotten away with it forever if they could have. Bowden is a corrupt piece of slime, as shady as they come, imo. And in my opinion, many fsu fans know that down deep, but continue to deflect, and act all victimized when we despise fsu, and their fan base for supporting and spinning and deflecting all the dirt. Try to get them to admit any of this, just try. That is why I hold the fsu fan base, as a whole, in a lower disregard than all others. They've earned it. They and the fsu program have sown for decades the enmity most Gator fans justifiably see them with. Don't get me wrong.... I would LOVE to have our major state rival be an honorable, respectable program, with coaches and fans we could respect even in the heat of rivalry. And I don't necessarily think it's impossible. But it will never get cleaned up as long as Bowden, Hart, and Weatherell or any of their clones still exist there. To change things at fsu, to make them rivals worthy of respect, it would take such a large-scale enema to wipe out all remnants of the old regime that I just don't think we'll ever see it. Their own fan base would have to be the ones to make it happen.... and I'll just say, based on what I've seen, I don't think the last several generations of nole fans will ever be up to that. THAT is why the concept of "peace" with the noles is so foreign to me. It's like being asked to forgive and exhonerate and respect a criminal, while he's STILL committing crimes and revelling in it. If fsu ever gives itself the big enema, comes clean, and becomes a respectable rivalry, that will be a HAPPY day for this Gator fan. I'd much rather have rivals I respect in battle. |
