"if he hadnt been there to set the tone"

(EDITED BY AUTHOR: 2/7/2006 - 3:06 p.m.)

and we'd only had the H.Rap Browns and Stokely Carmichaels et al-who can say what the outcome would have been?--race war?--the other more militant guys played their parts too-made intelligent whities say--hey that MLK guy aint so bad--and he kept a steady hand on the tiller-his immense prestige made it all work with minimal casualites--he was no saint but he was a great man--sure he may have been attracted to communism or maybe not-but given the world he was in-no suprise if he didnt at least investigate the idea-and no I didnt and dont agree with everything he said and did but the essance of his work was brilliant-and sure he may have cheated on his wife but the amount of temptation he saw was, say a bit more than I've seen--bottom line America was very fortunate to have a man like him, who believed and PRACTICED, for the most part, the Gospel--a giant of his time.
