It was fun having the Bulldogs come to Florida Field in '94, despite the rain. Likewise it was fun playing Between The Hedges in '95. The reason those games were fun is because it was the first time in decades either school had visted the other's campus. The games were unique.
That is also the precise reason that having this game in Jacksonville every year is so special. It is a unique game that both teams and their fans can look forward to each year. From decorating the car before the trip, to the drive into the city on I-10 when you first see the other guys, to the pregame bash at The Landing, to the tailgating outside the stadium on gameday, to stark division in the stadium during the game, to the post game celeberation of the winners, to writing the score on the car window for the trip home, every aspect of the Florida/Georgia game makes it a unique experiance.
Go ahead, move the game out of Jacksonville. The first couple of games will be different and exciting. After a few years, the series will be no different than Florida/Kentucky or Georgia/South Carolina.
