One of the greatest men, and greatest Gators I've ever known, "Uncle" Bud Fernandez went to football practice yesterday afternoon and passed away in his sleep last night. He was a retired US Army Infantry Sergeant Major, and a combat veteran of WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. He started his career with UAA in 1971 as the Equipment Manager for the UF football team, and retired in 2002 from his position as Assistant Athletic Director.
